Teen Program

The high school age Teen Group meets regularly to provide support to those who have experienced a significant loss--death of a mother, father, sister, brother or close friend. Our group meets weekly for twelve weeks at the Hampshire Regional YMCA from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Our next group meets weekly on Thursday evenings. In addition, we offier a monthly group for caregivers of grieving teens. Please call for more information. The goal of the group is to create a community where young people who are grieving can feel safe to talk about a difficult topic with others who understand what they are going through.

We at The Garden know how important it is to not feel all alone, especially after the death of someone special. Meetings include rituals around loss, team-building activities, discussion and laughter. Keeping a connection with the person who died is encouraged. Often relationships are cultivated within the group that continue to thrive outside of our sessions together.

It is a unique group of teenagers who are ready to share their experiences in hopes of making the integration of their loss easier as well as helping and supporting their peers.
